what discounts do you offer?

as of 1st APRIL ’22 we offer the following discounts at SMOKEWORKS – ‘student’ / ‘blue light card’ / ‘friends of SMOKEWORKS’ / ‘friends of CDC’ & ‘CDC mr & mrs’. for more details about our student and blue light discount – please click here

do we take bookings/larger parties?

at SMOKEWORKS FREE SCHOOL LANE (the one in the centre of cambridge) – whilst we have plenty of seats, and are great at turning tables so we can get you sat and eating quickly even when things are busy, if you’d prefer to book then just click here. our bar, SMOKEWORKS TAP, is located right next door, so is the perfect place to start your evening whilst you wait for your table with either a great craft beer or cocktail!

for larger groups, we have a great basement room which is suitable for up to 2O people. perfect for family get-togethers, kids parties, private groups or networking events. please email the team at freeschool@smokeworks.co.uk for more info

at SLINGERS STATION ROAD (that’s right, the one down from the train station!) – we are able to take bookings, obviously for darts but also for lunch, dinner and even just drinks. our BUFFALO LOUNGE is also suitable for up to 3O guests, and the TAP bar can also be booked for events like networking or even just some birthday drinks and nibbles. please email the team slingersbookings@smokeworks.co.uk for more info

can you just grab a drink?

yes! you can enjoy a beer, cocktail or bourbon in our bars, aka our TAP bars, which are located right next door at FREE SCHOOL LANE and to one side of SLINGERS [STATION ROAD]. both are the perfect starting place for any evening whilst you plan the rest of your night or wait for your table in our restaurant

are we child-friendly?

yes! highchairs are available at both restaurants and while we don’t offer a smaller kids menu, we’re more than happy to offer the majority of our main menu in smaller portions to suit smaller appetites!

are we dog-friendly?

while we’re unable to accept dogs (excluding service dogs) in our main restaurant areas, you are more than welcome to bring them with you when you visit either of our TAP bars, or if you decide to dine with us outside at FREE SCHOOL LANE

is there disabled access?

is it just meat? do you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

obviously we love our meat at SMOKEWORKS but we do our best to offer vegetarian and vegan options whenever possible

is any of our food halal or kosher?

sorry but neither of our restaurants are certified to prepare meals that meet the requirements for either halal or kosher dietary standards

and what about allergens and intolerances?

at SMOKEWORKS we take allergens and intolerances very seriously and always endeavour to cater for anyone who suffers from them, but if you need more information before your visit then then please just drop us an email to either freeschool@smokeworks.co.uk or slingers@smokeworks.co.uk, or when you visit either of our venues just make sure you speak to the manager on duty if you need any further questions answered!

please remember that although prepared on site, we cannot guarantee food does not contain gm, nut or gluten traces. our menu description may not contain all ingredients, so before ordering please talk to the manager on duty if you have any specific questions in relation to your allergy or dietary requirements

no added gluten or dairy? while our kitchens aren’t specifically gluten-free, and it’s fair to say we do serve up a lot of buns and breaded chicken wings, we always make sure we take precautions to minimise any contamination when serving ‘no added gluten’ or ‘no added diary’ menu items. our ‘no added gluten’ or ‘no added dairy’ menu will help you avoid ordering any food that contains, or has gluten or dairy added to it, however, we are unable to guarantee your food does not contain traces and as such this is why we do not state the menu is gluten or dairy-free

deliveroo supplement

it is with much regret that we have had to add £1 to all main items on the deliveroo platform at SLINGERS. costs to us have increased considerably over the last year and unfortunately, we can no longer absorb the packaging and deliveroo costs as we were able to previously. we thank you in advance for your understanding

can I park at the restaurant?

afraid not. but there are car parks close to both of our restaurants:

FREE SCHOOL LANE – the nearest car park is at the grand arcade (entrance on corn exchange street)

STATION ROAD – the nearest car park is at the cambridge train station itself. there are also various pay and display streets surrounding station road

what payment methods do we take?

we accept all major credit cards including AMEX. as well as the following digital methods: APPLE PAY. ANDROID PAY. WECHAT PAY and ALIPAY. obviously if cash is your only option, then we’re not going to say no, although swapsies and bartering are still a no for now!

service charge

at SMOKEWORKS a discretionary 1O% service charge is added to our bills. 1OO% of the service charge (tronc) is received by our brilliant restaurant crews. here’s how it works: the process of allocating tronc is independent of SMOKEWORKS and is governed by an elected tronc master from within the crew. anyone from front and back-of-house has the ability to be tronc master. SMOKEWORKS doesn’t charge administration fees to facilitate any tronc payments to our crew, and tronc is paid in addition to any crew members wages
